The biggest band in the East is coming apart at the seams. Three key men from the guts of the Harvard Band--a sousaphone, a cymbalist, and the manager himself--have shifted their allegiance to the Cambridge Fire Department marching corps.
"We like to go over to the firehouse and ride the wagons," explained Band manager Joseph J. Bergatti, Jr. '45 last night. "We wear firemen's uniforms and play in their band, too."
Bergatt is an expect on the baritone horn.
