Only four members dissented last night as the Harvard Liberal Union turned thumbs down on Henry Wallace and his plans for presidential election via a third-party ticket.
In a resolution drawn up at yesterday's meeting, the left-of-center group said that "the current third party movement represents a retreat from really which may result in the election of a reactionary administration and brings closer the possibility of war.
The Wallace group has no popular base of support and practically no support from organized labor. Its entrance into the political scene is a major setback to the chances of achieving peace.
"We therefore unquestionably oppose the Wallace third party."
