Mariaschin Keeps Dust Off Year - Old Basketball Award

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

saul Mariaschin dusted off his award for the most valuable basketball player in New England yesterday, the equivalent of a Hollywood Oscar for those who tread the quintet boards, prior to the trophy's first formal photographic portralt.

"It's still in the family," said Mariaschin, recalling that last year's quintet captain Wyndol Gray, had also been chosen for the honor by local sports-writers.

Mariaschin nosed out George Kaftan of the Holy Cross National Champions in the polling.
