Three years of hit-or-miss golf competition will draw to a close this afternoon when candidates for the first formal postwar teams will show up at the Indoor Athletic Building for an organizational meeting.
Coach Bill Barclay, who is training Crimson duffers for the first time, has asked Varsity hopefuls to report at two o'clock, and aspirants for the Freshman teams to check in one hour later. At least 25 men are expected to put in an appearance at these meetings.
With only three practice days left before the match against M.I.T. on Saturday, Barclay's charges will have to do some fast fairway furrowing in order to get their swings grooved for the first contest.
Some College golfers, however, have jumped the gun with a bit of pre-season clubbing on chilly near-by links.
