Faculty Secrets Bared When Grade Curve Uncorks Brew

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Quaffing a brew on the 5:48 out of Stamford last night, a Gov-major became interested in his neighbor, a tidy character who, between swallows of a rye-and-soda, was drawing invert-ted U-curves on a sheet of paper.

The beer drinker would have thought nothing of this had not the rye-and-soda man pencilled an "A" at one end of the curve and an "E" at the other. At the high point he put "C" and elsewhere symbols ranging from A minus to D minus.

When the rye was finally abandoned (empty), besides the paper full of curves and a Faculty Club matchbook, 13 cents, or ten per cent of two ryes marked on a curve, remained on the table.
