Models to Gauge Yardling 'Lines' For Prize Dances

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Usually grim Union surroundings will undergo a transformation Friday evening when six models, a band unit, and an emcee will choose at random 60 Jubilee ticket holders who will vie with each other for a prize dance with the models at the May 10 Union formal.

The lucky Yardlings are slated to compete for the prize promenades next week in an elimination based on glib "lines" and personal appeal as displayed during a half-minute talk with the girls. The final group will number 30 men.

Simultaneously, the committee released the program for the "Cabaret" on Friday, May 9, that will include a musical show by Robert Ashenhurst '50 and dancing to the music of a full-size band.

Upperclass Sales Begin Today

Tickets for the weekend will go on sale to all upperclassmen today in the Coop.. Phillips Brooks House, and the Union. In the preliminary Union sale to Freshmen during the past two days, more than half the available tickets have been sold. Committeemen termed the initial sales response "very favorable."

Definite announcement of the orchestras for the dances will not be forthcoming until contracts are closed today, but the committee promised three a full band for Friday night's Memorial Hall dance, and two units that will provide "continuous dancing" at the Union Saturday evening.

At the same time, the committee requested any men or women who want parts in the proposed musical show to report to PBH for tryouts today from 1 to 8 o'clock and Friday from 2 to 4 o'clock.
