Public Links Not Ready for Early Bird Golf Players

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Undergraduate golfers not on the Varsity squad will have to shift for themselves if they wish to find a place to play this spring, Carrol F. Getchell of the H.A.A. reported yesterday.

The University's previous arrangement with the Belmont Country Club for permission to use its links was discontinued several years ago and no renewal is in the offing.

Meanwhile a survey of public courses at Franklin and Hyde Parks in Boston disclosed that neither will be ready for play until at least the second week in April. With the frost still in the ground, only the Fresh Pond course here in Cambridge is open for action.
