Six spring meets, including Heptagonal and IC4A championships, have been arranged for the Varsity track team, it was announced yesterday.
The Heps, blue-ribbon meet for all Ivy colleges, will be held this year in the Stadium on May 17. The Crimson will play host to Army, Navy, Pennsylvania, Cornell, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, and Columbia. Army, with 56 points, was an easy winner last spring, with the Crimson in fifth place.
Listed as a prelude to the official season is the official University Handicap, which will be run off on April 12. Designed to uncover any latent track and field material on the local scene, it is open to anybody strong enough to lace up a track shoe.
The schedule:
April 12, University Handicap
April 19, Tufts, Brown, Rhode Island State
April 26, Holy Cross, Boston College, Northeastern
May 3, Army, Columbia, Dartmouth, Missouri at West Point
May 10, Yale at New Haven
May 17, Heptagonals
May 30-31, IC4A at Philadelphia
