Six members of the Crimson ski team and scores of undergraduate novices will depart today for the annual Dartmouth Winter Carnival at Hanover. Unless a serious thaw sets in in the New Hampshire hills, the athletic end of the carnival will get started tonight and last through Sunday afternoon.
Coach Bill Halsey will enter his men in the four-event meet which includes downhill, slalom, cross-country and jumping. The four events will be negotiated by four man teams from Dartmouth, McGill, University of New Hampshire, Middle bury, and Harvard.
As added attraction in this year's Carnival will be the participation of a special Swiss team sent by the government of Switzerland for the Hanover meet. The Alpine delegation, led by tamed ski are Karl Meliter, will compete in all events, but will not be included in the official scoring.
The Crimson contestants are Larry Griffin, Bob Fanlkner, Jerry Genn, Redger Nerdblem, Graham Taylor, and Dick Rich.
