BOSTON, Feb. 13--(A.P.)--Harvard College today received authorization from the Civilian Production Administration to start construction of the new Lamont Library for undergraduates, at an estimated cost of $931,220.
The Boston office of C.P.A. said the project would provide ten months of work for the heavy building trades, in which, in the Boston area, a work shortage had threatened.
C.P.A. said the Lamont Library was one of 20 approved this week, at a total cost of $1,273,113.
