College skiers who tire of the blue books can get away from it all at the newly established Norwegian Ski School for Americans at Kongsberg, Norway, it was announced last night.

Beginning February 1, the course will last from four to six weeks. With the aid of several of Norway's skiing champions, chief instructor Tomm Murstad will teach down-hill, cross-country, and jumping.

For Pros and Amateurs

Although the school to primarily for directors, instructors, and coaches who want to add skiing to their programs, amateurs are encouraged to enroll. The only qualification is that the applicant must possess some rudimentary knowledge of skiing.

Lectures on the Norwegian language, literature, and history will be given by college teachers and Norwegian political and cultural leaders. Students who pass a theoretical and practical final examination receive instructor's certificates from the Norwegian Ski Association.

The cost, including board and lodging, instruction fees, and travel expenses in connection with excursions and entertainments, amounts to approximately $200. The school is trying to arrange reductions in travel expenses provided the participants can go in groups.

Kongsberg is an old, dignified town located about 80 miles from Oslo. The Ski School Committee will arrange sight-seeing tours, and the ski students will have an opportunity to attend the various Norwegian winter sports features.

Reservations for the course should be airmailed to Birger Rund, Kongsberg, Norway, not later than December 19. Applicants may write for additional information to Thor Gabrielson, 18 Kimball Street, Chicago.
