With only three days of practice under its belt, the Jayvee basketball squad makes its 1947-48 debut tonight at 8 o'clock when it plays host to Burdett College. Tonight's season-opener for Hal Kopp's charges lifts the lid on a 16-game schedule.
Despite the brief period he has had to whip his men into shape, Kopp is all smiles when he mulls over his prospects for the current season, for his chances for a successful campaign are unusually bright. An outstanding Freshman quintet from last season has moved up to the Jayvee ranks intact and has provided Kopp with a formidable nucleus for his 20-man squad.

Forwards Bill Mobraaten and Charlie Brynteson, guards Dick Covey and John Atrocchi, and center Frank Lionette have formed the foundation for the work Kopp has done with his crew in the three practice sessions.
