'48 Wrestlers Puff Through Hard Practice

Close to a half hundred sweat-clothed, eager musclemen of assorted shapes and sixes turned up in one of the back rooms in the Indoor Athletic Building yesterday afternoon for the first official day of practice at the earthbound sport of wrestling.

Unofficial workouts in the afternoons and evenings took place periodically during November, but practice started up in earnest yesterday with the appearance of Coach Clarence Boston, now freed of Jayvee football cares.

For the time being, Boston will handle the Varsity and Freshman coaching jobs. Last year's Yardling coach, Jay Thomas, plans to work with the theory of relativity in the Graduate Department of Physics instead of with grapplers. Athletic Association officials hope to settle on a new coach before the Christmas vacation dawns.

Boston looks forward with mixed feelings toward his schedule which includes six meets in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling League, and which he terms "tougher than the pre-war lineups." He expects to schedule three or four more meets. Varsity Wrestling December 13  M.I.T.
