As a member of '63, I object to the level upon which many candidates for our Smoker Committee are conducting their campaigns. By making sex their slogan, they are degrading what can be a clean and memorable evening of fun into an event which any of us would be ashamed to have our parents attend. Whether these candidates would be able to carry out their programs or not. I object to the low character which they are trying to give to our Freshman Smoker. These candidates are basing their programs not on now and original ideas with which to make the Smoker a success, but rather on sex alone, with no regard for morals or decency.

We vote Monday: It is than that we will choose between a clean Smoker and a sexy sideshow. It is up to us, every one of us, to vote down these candidates who want the first smoker pluce the war, the biggest Freshman event of the year, to be no more than an immoral sex show. Richard B. Durtis '51.
