Relay Quartets Open Track Season Today

Track Coach Jaakko Mikkola will get a chance to start cataloging some of his runners this afternoon in the Cage when six sets of Crimson relay teams hit the board saucer against units from Brown and Rhode Island State. Today's competition will provide a prelude for Saturday's full-scale, informal meet at Tufts.

In an effort to give everybody an opportunity to run, Mikkola has formed A and B quartets in both the one and two-mile varsity events as well as in the freshman one-mile relay. The two-mile test, matching two Crimson teams against one from Brown, will open the program at 4:30 o'clock.

Ten minutes later, a pair of varsity mile relay squads each from Rhode Island State and Harvard will doff their sweatsuits.

The varsity A units: two-mile--H. Rosenfeld, W. Baker, J. Wheeler, F. Gurley; one-mile--H. Thayer, W. Goldberg, D. Gilbert, D. Hamblett.
