Crimson sailors placed third in a fleet of 12 Schell Trophy competitors racing Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday in the Charles River Basin. Brown won with 240 points, followed by M.I.T. (234), Harvard (228), George Washington (224), and Yale (214).

Frank Scully, intercollegiate freshman champion as of last week, and Tom Day skippered the two Crimson entries, with Pete Putnam and John Gardner as crews.

The competition was exceptionally close this year. By winning, Brown becomes in effect the intercollegiate champion.
