Many autographs of well-known Harvard and New England figures at contained in the autograph album a the late Charles S. Bowen '71, which has recently been presented to the College Library by Miss Maria Bowen of Cambridge.

The first letter in the volume signed by C. F. Adams 1825, father of the present Secretary of the Navy while on the following page is the signature of John Quincy Adams 1783 Among other famous Harvard graduates represented are William Prescon 1783. Andrews Norton 1804, Oliver Wendell Holmes 1829, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow '59, and William Dean Howells '67.

Autographs of three Harvard Presidents are included: Edward Everett 1811, Cornelius Conway Felton 1827 and Charles W. Eliot '53. In the book which will be placed in the Treasure Room, there is also an interesting page from the manuscript of John Ruskin' "The Queen of the Air".
