Puckmen Oppose Princeton In Peace-time Style Tonight

Pre-war hockey will reappear at least in spirit at the Boston Arena tonight at 8:30 as Harvard's once-tried puck chasers play host to a Princeton squad which will be playing its first game since 1942.

Both teams are the revival of a long-dormant sport. The Tigers are somewhat worse off, however, because they lack adequate practice facilities; Baker Rink has been used as a temporary gymnasium because of the destruction by fire of the regular gym several years ago, and as a result hockey practice there has been confined to the few days that are cold enough for outdoor practice.

Reinforcement of Stickwielders

The Crimson stickwielders will be reinforced tonight by the addition of one or two veterans of the 1942 Jayvee or Freshman teams, just returned from the wars. Coach Chase mentioned as his tentative starting lineup Johnny Knowles as goal-tender, Bob Cowen (who will leave the NROTC unit with his commission February 9) and Dick Greeley at the defense positions, Peter Eaton at left wing, Bob Feloney at center, and Bill Ayres, the team's captain at right wing.

Following the Princeton game, the Crimson is slated to face Holy Cross, (which lost to the Chasemen. 10 to 5, last month), Yale, the Boston Athletic Association, Dartmouth, Brown, and West Point. Dartmouth and Yale loom as the strongest of the opposition; both have defeated West Point and each other, and both have had formal hockey all through the war.
