Boston Will Not Ban 'King in Babylon,' Vets Opener Tomorrow Eve

"I was King in Babylon," William Gerhardi's satire, and the newly formed Veterans' Theater Workshop will both have their world yremieres tomorrow night when the curtain goes up at the Rindge Technical School Auditorium. The play will run through Saturday.

Contrary to a report in the London Evening Standard that the play was to be banned in Boston, Jerome Kilty '50, reports that the doubtful scene has been tailored to conform with local regulations.

Mendy Weisgal 1G, plays the lead of Hector Rigoletto, a butcher who is mystically able to determine who all the other characters were in their other existences. Opposite him in the feminine lead is Claire Gilman, Radcliffe '47.

Originally a professional production of the play was planned for London this winter but Dr. Gerhardi has interested Firth Sheppard, the London producer, in having the cast of the Veterans' Theater act in the production.
