INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI, November 3--President Truman reiterated today this country determination to keep exclusive control for a long time of Pacific Island bases it deems essential to its own security.

He told his news conference this country would ask the United Nations for authority to establish exclusive trustee-shine over those islands happy of which were wrested from Japan.
