City Cops Called Weekend Doings Safe and Orderly

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Jim Cronin, who watched the Harvards play the Yales behind the bar of his Dunster Street tavern, reported after three nights of business "bigger than V-J Day" over the weekend that "everybody was a gentleman here, even the boys from Boston College."

Desk Sergeant Finnegan on duty at the Cambridge Police station last night corroborated this impression for all of the city, after consultation with his blotter showed a few minor larcenies. Boston police, however, listed a $2000 jewelry and clothing theft from a Sarah Lawrence Crimson fan, Miss Margaret Taylor.

John Harvard Holds Seat

Some of the same Eli spirit that prevailed in the successful goalpost charge on Soldiers Field could not unseat John Harvard despite two assaults of 300 strong Friday afternoon and evening. University police reserves under the direction of Chief A. R. Randell rallied from all corners of the Yard to carry the field.

Only one call was issued for the patrol wagon during the weekend, to confine two brawlers found alone in the large building at the intersection of Bow and Mt. Auburn Streets at 10 o'clock Saturday night. They insisted they were working overtime on a trade publication, but could produce no satisfactory evidence to this effect.
