Bradford and Minot Named To Administrative Posts as Assistant Deans of College

Two assistant deans will augment the Administrative Board's forces in University 4, under appointments which become effective today. William Bradford and Otis N. Minot '39 are the newest additions to the roster of deans, though they have been working at their present duties since the beginning of the term.

Bradford, who was born in Itta Bena, Mississippi, is currently dividing his energies between University Hall and the Harvard Union, where he is Graduate Secretary. In addition he holds a teaching fellowship in Economics, for which he prepared with undergraduate work at Syracuse University, and with graduate study there and at Harvard.

Worked With Air Corps

During the war Bradford served as an instructor in Economic Geography for the Army Air Forces College Training Detachment at Syracuse. In the summer of 1944 he was acting head of the Geography Department for courses connected with the armed forces.

From September of 1943 until October, 1944, Bradford assisted in the organization of the freshman advisory system at Syracuse. He is currently a member of the Board of Freshman Advisors here, and is also a proctor in Massachusetts Hall.

Dean Minot completed his undergraduate work here in 1938, concentrating in physics. After a short session of teaching mathematics at Milton Academy, he entered the Navy, where he trained at the Naval Academy Nautical and Engineering Reserve School, and at the Pre-Radar Naval Training School at Bowdoin College.

Minot Was Navy Instructor

Following this training, he served as an instructor in physics and radar at the Naval Research Laboratory's Radio Material School in Washington, D. C., and as a lecturer and laboratory instructor at the Bowdoin Pre-Radar School. Last year he completed his studies at the Graduate School of Education here. Like Bradford, Minot will work with upperclassmen, but his work will keep him in University Hall full-time.
