Winthrop to Launch Series of House Art Exhibits, October 12

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Winthrop House has taken the lead in a series of House art exhibits, announcing a showing of works by residents to be on view in the Winthrop junior common room the week of Saturday, October 19.

Open to painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography, the exhibits will be judged by a committee comprised of James M. Carpenter '37, instructor in Fine Arts; Kenneth J. Conant '15, professor of Architecture; Frederick B. Deknatel, associate professor of Fine Arts; and Arthur Pope '01, professor of Fine Arts and acting director of the Fogg Art Museum. The board will select the best work from all houses showing in the Fogg Museum.

While the first offering is open only to Winthrop residents, whose house is sponsoring the project, the other houses will have exhibits later in the term. Information may be had from Morton Margolis in Winthrop A-15.
