Faculty Judges Name Winners in Winthrop House Art Competition

Four judges, including Professors Conant, Dcknatel, Pope and Dr. Carpenter, announced the winners of the Winthrop House art exhibit which closed last Saturday, and expressed satisfaction at the interest taken in the display as well as the quality of the oils, water colors, and photographs which they viewed.

Winners among the oil painters were Daniel J. Coolidge '49 and Morton Margolis '49; for water colors were Harry L. W. Brorby '49 and Stewart D. Kranz '49. Photograph and sketching honors went to David K. Waer '45, Peter H. Davison '49, Bartiett M. Hauthaway '46, and Henry E. Erhard '46.

The Winthrop exhibit was the first in a series of displays which will be conducted among all the Houses, commuters, Yardlings, and graduate students this fall. A selection will be made from the best works in the various groups to go on exhibition in the Fogg Museum.
