Work Assigned to New Council Men

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Five of the six new Student Council members elected Thursday were immediately assigned to various projects at their first regular meeting last night, as the Council voted Monday the regular meeting day instead of Thursday as formerly.

Richard G. Axt '46 became chairman of the Council's Extra-Curricular Activities Committee with his first task that of extending the range of activities open to the present abnormal numbers of students and of recommending ways of securing financial responsibility in undergraduate organizations, both problems about which College officials have admitted deep concern.

Typical student budgets for veteran and non-veteran alike will be noted and appraised in a survey by George E. Bell '46, chairman, and Michael J. DeLeo '45 and the Student Finance Committee.

Investigation of the present House parietal rules has been delegated to Harold C. Fleming '44, while James J. Sullivan '47 is undertaking work on the Student Welfare Committee with particular reference to Commuter problems, and William S. Harrison '43 has volunteered to help the Relief Committee in its contacts with foreign universities.
