Eight make-up games next week bring to a climax a torrid month of intramural baseball, as the three leading teams, Companies B and C and Lowell House, battle for the pennant in the extended season.

Undefeated Company B, idle since Monday, still leads the league with four games won, although recent victories by Lowell and the C team have brought them within striking distance of the pacesetters. The two clubs are tied for second and trail by one-half game.

Three victories in as many days lifted the Bellboys out of their second division berth. On Tuesday, the aroused club edged a favored Company D, 11-8, then overwhelmed slumping Company E by 8-1 on Wednesday, as Varsity third baseman Mort Dunn pitched a neat two-hitter. Regular pitcher Wally Robb followed with a 4 to 3 win over last place Company A yesterday to put Lowell in the first place battle.

pany C's 5 to 3 victory over Company E Tuesday. Two last inning tallies broke a tie and enabled Ash Carter to down Jim Knowles, former moundsman of Crash Davis' B outfit. An 8 to 4 win by Company D over A completes the week's summary.

The showdown in the tight race will come next Tuesday, when Company C, which has been trailing the B nine all season, will get a chance to down the leaders. Lowell will take on the NROTC team-mates, Wallace would have lost only one encounter. He struck out 51 of the opposition during the season, and hurled three shutouts.

Coach Floyd Stahl guided the team once more doing an outstanding job in turning out a .700 record against opponents that included several professional ball players.
