CRIMSON OUT FOR BEAR IN BRUIN SOCCER BOUT

Blanco to Start at Defense for Booters

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Riding the creast of a two game winning streak, Coach Jim McDonald's booters will try to make it three straight tomorrow afternoon when they play host to a powerful Bruin outfit that edged them 1 to 0 in a thriller at Providence last term.

Victories last Friday and Saturday over Milton Academy and Medford High have smoothed out some of the weaknesses in the Crimson attack and have keyed the team to a high pitch for tomorrow's important match against Brown.

Overpower Academy

Despite heavy rains, which had turned the Milton Academy field into sloppy mud and which continued to fall at game time, the two teams took the field and battled evenly during the first half, the only scoring being two long breakaways by the Academy and a quick goal by Pearson with less than a minute left.

Forty seconds after the whistle blew, starting the second half, Guild tied the score on a hard drive from a shuffie in front of the Academy goal, and before the quarter had ended, Glidden had put the Crimson out in front with goal number three. Goals by Pearson and Simitch in the fourth period brought the final count to Harvard 5, Milton Academy 2.

Saturday's game with Medford saw the Crimson score three times in the final period to win 3 to 1. The Harvard lineup for the Milton Academy game: g, Livermore; lb, Dean; rh, Smith; lhb, Coon; chb, Lillee; rhb, Gilbert; or, Guild; ir, Glidden; c, Pearson; il, Jeem; ol, Simitch.

Next Saturday the A team will meet Tufts at Medford, while the B squad entertains Tabor Academy at Soldiers Field.

The starting lineup against Brown: g, Harshman; 1b, Dean; rb, Day; rh, Butcher; ch, Mavor; lh, Glidden, or Guild; ir, Blanco; cf, Genn; il, Pearson; ol, Corrigan.
