Examination Period to Start Before Date Now Scheduled

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dean Phelps announced yesterday that the final examination period for the winter term would begin Monday, February 14, instead of February 17, as originally scheduled. The closing date of examination remains Saturday, February 26.

The purpose of the change of dates is-to make possible an earlier report of grades in most courses. Although the last day of examinations is nominally the same as before, only a few small groups are scheduled for the last three days of the period. The recess between terms, running until March 7, will thus be 12 days for most students.

The provisional schedule of examinations, which is subject to change, will be posted in University Hall this afternoon. The final schedule will appear about February 1.
