Malone Leaves to Complete His Biography of Jefferson

Roger L. Scaife '97, vice-president of Little, Brown, and Company, will serve as Acting Director of the Harvard University Press replacing Dr. Dumas Malone, Director for seven years, who resigned yesterday.

Scaife, before his promotion to Acting Director, was a member of the Board of Syndics of the University Press. He is also a Director of the Harvard Alumni Bulletin, Secretary of his class alumni organization, and formerly a Director of the Harvard Alumni Association.

Malone was editor-in-chief of the "Dictionary of American Biography" before coming to the University.
