ASTP MEN TO JOIN SPORTS PROGRAM

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Starting Monday, 800 ASTP soldiers and reserves will take conditioning classes with civilians and Navy V-12ers, announced Norman W. Fradd, Assistant Director of Physical Education, yesterday.

The men are not to be assigned to any morning classes, but will do their calisthenics in four afternoon classes. A 2:45 o'clock class has been added to accommodate some of the army men, and a limited number of civilians and V-12ers can also take the class.

Unlike the civilians and sailors, the soldiers will have no option as to when and where they will take calisthenics, but will be assigned by the Army to the various classes. Some of the men will drill in Army fatigue clothes, while the majority will be permitted to wear any gym outfit they choose.

Two hundred and fifty of the soldiers will take their exercise in the new 2:45 o'clock class, while 250 more will attend the small 3:45 o'clock class. The other 300 will be divided between the 4:45 and 5:30 classes.
