Tennis Stars Bring in $700 for Navy Relief

The Navy Relief Association netted $700 as 300 people attended exhibition tennis matches between some of the nation's stars last Saturday at Soldiers Field. A dance was included in the admission and followed directly afterwards.

In the men's singles, Private Dave Freeman downed Ensign Robert Kerdasha, 7 to 5. Mrs. Hazel Wightman and Harrison Rowbotham lost to Ensign Kerdasha and Miss Katherine Winthrop, 6 to 4, in the mixed doubles, while the men's doubles gave a George Owen, Jr. and Rowbotham a victory over Freeman and Kerdasha, 7 to 5.
