Andover's track team showed a little more strength than had been expected Saturday afternoon, but the Crimson runners nailed down a 70 to 56 decision over the Royal Blue at the schoolboys' track, to end the 1943 track season.
After the meet, Thomas C. Hoyloke '44, of Winthrop House and Milwaukee, Wis., was elected captain of the squad, succeeding J. Donald MacKinnon, Jr. Holyoke is the Crimson's ace broad-jumper, and also threw the javelin this year.
Times were excellent in Saturday's meet. Wally Chubb turned in a 51.5 quarter-mile, Hank Mason toured the 880 in 2:02.5, and Tim Coggeshall ran the mile in 4:31.8, all of which were the best performances of the season for the Crimson middle distance men.
