Monday morning will find our Officer Candidates and their families and friends in Potter Auditorium for the final meeting of the class. Long coveted gold bars will adorn the shoulders of the newly-made Second Lieutenants after the ceremony of graduation is completed. Class 7-43 is to be honored by the presence of Colonel Byron E. Gates, Assistant Chief of Air Staff, Management Control, Army Air Forces, and possible other representatives from Headquarters Army Air Forces.

There will be a tour of Harvard on Sunday afternoon, Apr. 1 11, for the parents and friends of the graduating class, and a tea at the Student Club on the afternoon of graduation.

We have watched the Officer Candidates eagerly scanning the weekly lists as to their grades and do not hesitate in letting them know that despite the fact that there will be a few non-gradates, this class will have less of the latter than usual--be that any consolation.

The last steps prior to graduation are being taken this week with the turning in of all field equ parent and study material so that the men may be free to graduate Monday morning and move on to their now assignments later that day.

And speaking of new assignments, the last of the Second Lieutenants of Class 6-43 waiting for foreign duty orders, have departed to now stations there to await the time when they will leave to put into practical use the knowledge they gathered while at the Stat School. Good luck and happy landings to them all.

Two of our permanent staff have returned this week, Captain Lyman L. Woodman on his second escape from a sick bed, and Sergeant E. D. Carlson from a fifteen-day furlough in Utah. We hope the Captain is here to stay, but Sergeant Carison will be leaving on April 27 to attend the Anti-aircraft Artillery Officer Candidate School at Camp Davis, North Carolina.

The Stat School welcomes back Lieutenant Jackson W. Lord, a member of the first graduating class, who has seen active duty in Tunisia. He brings a messages of realism to the members of the graduating class assigned to over seas duty.

Travel Notes--We were happy to receive word of the appointment of Mr. Myles L. Mace and Mr. Robert S. McNamara of the original Stat School civilian faculty, to Captain. Both officers are on active duty overseas. Mr. Harry Hausen and Mr. Vigo Nielson are on duty in Florida, while both Mr. Jackson Glover and Captain Ross F. Jones are in Miami selecting the students of Class 8-43, due here April 16.
