For the first time since the addition of the newest contingents, all Harvard Naval Training Schools will be formed into a massed brigade for formal review on Soldiers Field at 3:30 o'clock next Thursday.
The group of approximately 3000 trainees will first assemble by units with the undergraduate Naval ROTC, Communications and Electronics NTS groups mustering in the Yard, and the Supply Corps School including the WAVES from Radcliffe, meeting in the Business School.
The Parade route for the units crossing the river will be through the Johnson Gate, across the Square, and down Boylston Street to the Soldiers Field baseball diamond where the reviewing stands are located.
Awards Presented
After the presentation of awards to outstanding Navy Sci men, the combined outfits will pass before the reviewing authorities, consisting of the Visiting Committee of the Board of Overseers and several naval and academic dignitaries.
Forming the front row in the reviewing stand will be John W. Farley '99, chairman of the committee; Captain George n. Barker, who is in charge of all naval personnel at Harvard; Rear Admiral Robert A. Theobald, Commandant of the First Naval District; and either University President James B. Conant or his representative.
Captain John S. Barleon, District Chief of Staff, and Captain Newton L. Nichols, officer in charge of district training activities, will be accompanied by Captain Kenneth C. McIntosh head of the Naval Supply School.
Commander Charles A. Macgowan of the Yard NTS completes the naval group in the reviewing party, and Colonel William S. Wood will represent the Army in his capacity as commanding officer of all Harvard military forces.
The two-block long column, with tempo established by the Navy Receiving Station Band from the South Boston Yard, will be headed by the executive officer of the NROTC unit, Commander Stanley L. Wilson, who will serve as Brigade Commander
