Naval Sci Cruise To Be June 12-26

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

All NROTC men not graduating this month will spend the fortnight from June 12 to June 26 gaining practical experience in various activities of the First Naval District, including a week on a sub-chaser, Captain George N. Barker, professor of Naval Science and Tactics, announced last night.

In addition to the time spent on board ship, the men will get to know their way around a Navy Yard and possibly other shore bases, he stated, although the plans are not yet definite.

Despite reports from Yale that Navy Sci Sophomores and Juniors would spend eight terms at College, Captain Barker reminded members of the Harvard unit that they were expected to keep their present accelerated schedules.

In the case of men who have completed all four courses in Naval Science but who have not finished all their degree requirements, Captain Barker said that they might be able to get comissions with the recommendations of the Dean's Office and the PNS&T, although each case would be decided on its own merits and no general policy would be set.
