Denied Winter Campus Housing, International Students Scramble to Find Alternative Options
Although not on the usual plane, there will be intercollegiate football games for Harvard next fall, Coach Henry Lamar announced at the preliminary meeting of gridiron candidates in the Varsity Club last night.
For the spring, Lamar said that the next week should be devoted to conditioning and calisthenics, the second week to scrimmaging, and the last three to a round-robin series between as many teams as can be made from the men turning out.
Turnout Small
Last night's turnout, exclusive of managers, was about 25, but a dozen more have indicated that they will want to play. This group consisted largely of Varsity and Jayvee veterans, but Lamar said that he wanted anyone who has ever played any football, including House ball, to come out.
Of last year's squad, Captain Don Forte, Russ Standard, Sid Smith, Willo Fisher, Wally Flynn, Swede Anderson, Paul Perkins, George Hibbard, and Dana Dudley showed up. Other experienced men expected to appear at 4 o'clock Monday include Bill Wilson, Tom Cowen and Wayne Johnson.
