While the rest of the squad waits around until spring for any further competition, four key men of Coach Jaakko Mikkola's track forces journey to New York this weekend to get a taste of the IC4A meet at Madison Square Garden.
Along with Captain Don MacKinnon will be Willo Fisher, Tom Holyoke, and Tim Coggeshall, but only MacKinnon and Fisher can be considered potential winners.
MacKinnon will probably find Todd of Virginia his toughest problem in the hurdles and will be out to repeat his former win over Todd at Buffalo. Fisher, whose best effort in the 35 pound weight came only last week in the NEAAU meet, should be able to come in near the top in the final result.
Tim Coggeshall, meeting stiff competition in the two mile race, may take a fourth or fifth, while Tom Holyoke, whose leg is taped from knee to groin, may find the going difficult in the broad jump.
