In order to replace members who have been forced to leave College because of the war, the Undergraduate Athletic Council has elected several new members. George M. Burditt, Jr. '44, basketball captain and President of the Student Council was elected as the major sports representative of the Committee on the Regulation of Athletic Sports, while E. Thayer Drake '44 was chosen as minor sports representative on the same committe.
Several important changes were also made in the personnel of the Athletic Council proper. Brooks N. Heath '44, Stanley H. Durwood '43, and John D. Eusden '43 were elected as representatives of baseball, football, and swimming respectively. The following men have retained their positions on the Council: Schofield Andrews, Jr. '44 for crew, Charles T. Cowen '44 for hockey, J. Donald MacKinnon, Jr. '43 for track, and Burditt for basketball.
In addition, Hugh M. Hyde '44, and Thomas N. Bridge '44 were selected as minor sports representatives, and Frank C. Dunham, Jr. '43 was named as representative from the Houses.
Acting upon a suggestion of Dean Hanford, the Undergraduate Athletic Council named three representatives to recommend a plan for intercollegiate and intramural athletics during the spring term.
