Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Like oil and water, exams and Varsity sports don't mix, and Coach Jack Barnaby's Varsity squash racquets team has been having a tough time over the last two weeks, what with the all-important Yale match a week and a half away. To make matters even worse, Captain and number one man. Gaelen Felt has silently folded his tent and gone into the Army.
Since the Williams team couldn't make their Jan. 5 date here because of transportation difficulties, the racquet men have played no inter-collegiate matches since the Christmas vacation and have had to survive, for the last two weeks, on club matches played in Boston. Of the two encounters the team has had, they have won one from the Boston Y. M. C. A., and dropped one to the Inter-Club team, the score in each case being 3-2.
As final preparation for the Yale match, Barnaby's charges will face the University Boat Club here this Saturday. In all probability the line-ups will be those which will face the Blue the following week. After Felt left, Decker Orr was moved up definitely to the number one post, for which he has been a serious contender ever since he won the invitation Tournament in New York during the vacation. Following pile-driving Orr will be Tom Sears, who placed second in the vacation play, losing to Orr after maintaining a perfect record in the early rounds.
Playing number three will be Wally McDonald, followed by Tom Baker, Dudley Palmer, George Clay, John Zinsser, Freshman Dave Shepard, and Cort Parker. The tail-end spot is still very much up in the air, according to Barnaby, who said last night that he would not be surprised to see a second Freshman playing on the Varsity for the coming two matches.
After the Feb. 7 Yale match, the team's season's plans are somewhat nebulous, although there is a meet with Dartmouth already definitely scheduled at Hanover, and the Intercollegiate Tournament to be played at some as yet unspecified college, although New Haven is the likely spot.
