The National Teacher Examinations for teaching candidates in the local public schools will be administered in the Graduate School of Education on March 12 and 13, it was announced today by John C. Cass, Local Examiner for the National Committee. All applications for taking the examinations must be submitted by February 13.
Candidates for positions in the local schools were urged to take these examinations and present their National Teacher Examination records along with other credentials when applying for a position.
The National Teacher Examinations, which are at present used in many of the larger school systems throughout the country, represent the cooperative effort of a number of school systems to provide the best of examination materials. Approximately 5,000 candidates are examined yearly in some 90 examining centers in the country, and their records used by superintendents in selecting teachers.
