Harold R. Rooks '44, of Lowell House and Seattle, Washington, was presented yesterday by Secretary Knox with the Congressional Medal of Honor won by his father, according to an announcement by the Navy Department.
Captain Rooks was commander of the cruiser U.S.S. Houston, lost following the battle of Java. He was listed as missing in action, and the award of the nation's highest war decoration was made by President Roosevelt.
His son Harold is a member of the Harvard. Naval Science unit, and concentrates in Government and Philosophy.
