The Marine Corps will continue to recruit men for their Officers Candidate Class from college students and graduates. College students in any year in college may apply for the Marine Corps Candidate Class provided they will be able to graduate and complete the Candidates Class prior to reaching their 27th birthday.
They will enlist in the Marine Corps Reserve and be placed on inactive status until the completion of their education. Should the need of the service require, college students may be called to active duty prior to graduation, but in such case they will be given six months advance notice and the requirement of a college degree for entrance to the Candidate Class will be waived.
An intensive ten weeks course of instruction for the Candidates Class at the Marine Barracks, Quantico, Virginia, precedes appointment as an officer. Upon the successful completion of this class the men are appointed officers and then attend the Reserve Officers course preliminary to assignment to Marine Corps units.
Application blanks may be obtained from the War Service Information Bureau, Room R, University Hall.
