INDIANS BEAT LACROSSEMEN

Playing their best game of the year, the Varsity stickmen were within nine minutes of upsetting Dartmouth and the Big Green's hopes for the Briggs Cup, emblematic of the New England lacrosse championship. But the Indians poured five goals past goalie Doug Green in those minutes and wound up on top by an 11 to 6 score at Hanover Saturday.

By all odds the Crimson should have lost by at least ten goals, since they had won only one game all year, and that to a makeshift Boston Lacrosse Club crew while the home team was already recognized as the best in the Northeast.

Six Played Last Game

Six Seniors in their last game tried to improve the worst record of any Harvard team this year, and came near to pulling an upset equal to those of the football and basketball squads over Dartmouth.

Captain Wally Fenn, Carl Sullivan, Tom Conlin, Lucky Alexis, Johnny Moot, and Sumner Simmons, all '42, played over their heads, but Mosenthal, at inside home for the Indians, beat them almost single-handed with six goals, three in the last drive.

Jay Hurley was the leading scorer for the visitors with three goals. Mal Donahue followed with two, while Simmons, and Fenn hit the net once each.
