6 MEN CHOSEN FOR DISCUSSION GROUP

Attracting only 10 of the 30 undergraduates who had enrolled, the Inter-American Discussion Contest was held yesterday afternoon, and six winners were selected to attend a district conference to take place the week of March 15.

The winners are: F. Cameron Ludwig '42, of Adams House, James E. McNulty '45, of Thayer, Melvin L. Milligan '45, of Grays, Caspar R. Ordal '44, of Eliot, George N. Prince '43, of Eliot, and Kenneth I. Richter '44, of Kirkland. John Q. Deaver '43, of Adams House will serve as alternate.

Selected on the basis of their speaking ability and on their general knowledge of conditions in South America, the successful candidates have crossed the first hurdle in the nation-wide competition. If they survive the two more conferences that lie ahead of them, they will be sent to a national conference in Washington, and from there on a government-conducted tour around South America.

Judging the contest were Professor Clarence H. Haring, Professor Frederick C. Packard, and Alfred Kidder 2nd, assistant curator of Andean archaeology.
