Nominated to the only posts filled by a vote of the class 30 Freshmen will come up for election to the Smoker and Jubilee Committees on Friday.
From the group of 85 Yardlings who applied for nomination last Thursday, the candidates have been chosen on the basis of their ability and past record by the Union Committee and by Thomas Matters '43, Student Council representative in charge of Freshman affairs. An effort has been made to make the group as representative as possible, both geographically and in distribution throughout the Yard.
Additional non can still be nominated by a petition signed by 25 members of the class, and left in the office to the left of the lobby in the Union before 8 o'clock Wednesday evening.
Voting Friday
Voting at lunch and dinner on Friday, the Yardlings will choose 10 men, who will then be divided by the Student Council between the two committees on the basis of their qualifications. The chairman of each of the groups may appoint more members if he so desires.
