William J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics, has been appointed to an eight-man advisory committee which will supervise the Navy's physical training program, in connection with its plan to provide 30,000 student pilots, the United Press reported last night.
Rear Admiral John H. Towers, Chief of the Bureau of Navigation, named the council, which will hold its first meeting this morning at the Navy Department in Washington. All members of the committee are prominent figures in sports and education.
When phoned by the CRIMSON late last night, Bingham's home revealed that he had already left to take up his new position. Another member of the advisory board is Dr. Joseph Raycroft, faculty member of Princeton University.
