Two Arlington High graduates, now Freshmen here, continued their parallel careers when both were notified last Saturday of government appointments, one to West Point, the other to Annapolis.
Naval Academy appoints Joseph Francis Dolan of Arlington, living at home, was president of his high school debating club, and John James McCulloch, of Arlington and Mathews Hall, the West Point nominee, was valedictorian of the school, and captained the Yardling cross-country team.
Although informed by Boston papers and reliable persons of the appointments, the parents of the boys stated that no official Washington confirmation has been received as yet. Edith Nourse Rogers, local Congress woman, conducted the competitive examination which resulted in her selections.
