College Cooperates In Extension Course Plan

Twenty-nine university extension courses, most of them starting this week, are being offered by the Commission on Extension Courses, which represents eleven local educational institutions.

Most of the courses are held in the evening. The tuition fees are $2.50 or $5.00. The program, now in its 31st year, is supported by the Lowell Institute of Boston and carries credit toward the degree of adjunct in arts at Harvard. The classes are held at Harvard and Boston University. Last year 1,435 men and women enrolled.

The courses this year will be given by twenty-seven faculty members from Harvard, Tufts, Simmons, Boston University and Wellesley.

Included will be courses on international trade, public finance, dictatorships and democracies, international relations, American democracy, contemporary philosophy, and psychology. Also there will be instruction in astronomy, botany, fine arts, geography, geology, history, music, sociology, and zoology. Language instruction will be given in French, German, and Spanish, and there will be instruction in English composition and English literature.
