In a meeting sponsored by the Harvard Student Defense League, Lewis Mumford, author of several recent publications and consulting editor of the "New Republic," and Ralph Barton Perry '29, Edgar Pierce Professor of Philosophy, will speak on the "Challenge to America" tomorrow night at 8 o'clock in Emerson D.
Mumford, who will speak for the "Fight for Freedom Committee," gave a series of lectures here last year, and is author of "Faith For Living" and "The Culture of Cities." This committee, whose stand the League is supporting, maintains that the United States must accept "the fact that it is at war" and find "a peace which can never come as long as it seeks safety at the cost of others' sacrifices."
Chairman of American Defense, Harvard Group, Perry wrote in "Shall Not Perish From the Earth," "Isolationism is both short-sighted and unfaithful."
