Adams, Kirkland, and Eliot will be the highly-favored crews is the first House race of the year at 5 o'clock this afternoon. The winner will face the number one College crew from Yale within the next few weeks.
In the first beat, both Adams and Kirkland are supplying two strong crews. Almost evenly matched, these eights are expected to outdistance Dunster and Winthrop in a close battle to the finish.
Eliot seems to have the race all to itself in the second heat of the afternoon since the Bunnies and Bell Boys are both weak and Dudley was unable to muster a crew. As it is, Eliot has both its first and second eights in the race, and it is now a toss-up to see which boat crosses the line first. Yesterday the first boat came in behind the second shell four times in a row.
Next Thursday the final race will be held in which the first two eights of today's heats will battle it out to face the Yale crew. It Eliot's two boats should take first and second in their heats, only the winner will be allowed to compete in the finals.
